Overview The Product Manager is responsible for driving commercial performance, pricing strategy, and overall product line profitability within a specialty chemical manufacturing environment. This role owns full contribution margin performance and serves as the critical link between sales, operations, and supply chain to ensure alignment between market demand, production capability, and financial targets. The position operates at both a strategic and execution level, guiding pricing, forecasting, raw material strategy, and customer engagement while leading a commercial team and influencing cross-functional decision-making.

This role has significant visibility with senior leadership and plays a central role in shaping market positioning, long-term sales planning, and business growth across North and South America. The position location is Southeast Texas or Greater Columbus, OH. Key Responsibilities Own product line P&L performance with direct accountability for contribution margin, pricing strategy, and commercial execution.

Lead pricing governance, including price floor development, approvals, and alignment with market conditions and margin targets. Partner with sales to implement pricing strategies, monitor performance, and drive profitability across customer segments. Manage sales forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production planning and demand signals.

Oversee raw material sourcing strategy, including supplier negotiations and cost optimization to support margin targets. Lead and develop the sales team, providing direction on pricing policies, contract negotiations, and customer strategy. Drive weekly S&OP process in coordination with operations and logistics leadership to balance supply, demand, and inventory.

Develop and maintain long-term commercial plans, including volume growth, market expansion, and product positioning. Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer trends to inform strategic decisions. Build and maintain executive-level customer relationships and represent the business at industry conferences and key meetings.

Present monthly commercial performance updates to senior leadership, including variance to budget and forward outlook. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in commercial roles within chemical manufacturing (e.g., petrochemical, specialty chemicals, or industrial gases). 5+ years of leadership experience managing sales or commercial teams. Demonstrated experience in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and margin management within a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, including raw material procurement and production planning. Experience operating within S&OP frameworks and cross-functional decision environments. Financial acumen with ability to manage P&L drivers and translate strategy into measurable results.

Proficiency with ERP and business systems (e.g., SAP, Dynamics, or similar) and strong Excel/data analysis capabilities. Ability to influence across operations, sales, and executive leadership in a matrixed organization. Strong communication and presentation skills with experience interfacing with senior stakeholders.
