Job Title IFRS 17 Program / Project Manager Location Onsite – Chennai Experience 10–15 years (including 4–6 years in IFRS 17 or large-scale finance transformation programs) Role Purpose The IFRS 17 Project Manager will lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of IFRS 17 implementation and post-implementation initiatives. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, risks, budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance while aligning business, actuarial, finance, and IT stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Program & Project Management Lead IFRS 17 implementation, enhancement, or BAU transformation programs across actuarial, finance, and IT streams Own the integrated project plan, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issue management Track progress against scope, schedule, cost, and quality baselines Drive governance structures, steering committee updates, and executive reporting Stakeholder Management Act as the primary interface between business, actuarial, finance, IT, vendors, and external consultants Facilitate workshops and decision forums to resolve design, delivery, and compliance challenges Ensure alignment between regulatory requirements, business objectives, and system capabilities Delivery Oversight Oversee key IFRS 17 components including: Measurement models (GMM, PAA, VFA) CSM calculations and roll-forwards Chart of Accounts (CoA) and financial reporting Data sourcing, controls, and reconciliation processes Coordinate delivery across actuarial engines, sub-ledgers, and general ledger systems Ensure compliance with accounting policy, audit, and regulatory expectations Risk, Quality & Control Identify and mitigate delivery, resourcing, and compliance risks Ensure appropriate documentation, testing, validation, and audit trails Support internal and external audit interactions related to IFRS 17 Change & Transition Management Manage transition from implementation to BAU operations Support operating model design, knowledge transfer, and training Drive continuous improvement and optimization initiatives post go-live Required Skills & Experience Mandatory Strong hands-on experience managing IFRS 17 programs or projects Solid understanding of: IFRS 17 principles and financial reporting impacts Actuarial and finance processes in insurance (Life / P&C / Health) Proven experience in managing large, complex, multi-vendor programs Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) Strong financial acumen and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly Technical & Tool Exposure (Good to Have) IFRS 17 systems and solutions (e.g., SAP FPSL, Oracle IFRS 17, Moody’s, FIS) Actuarial models and data platforms Reporting and reconciliation tools Education & Certifications Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related field PMP / PRINCE2 / SAFe or equivalent project management certification (preferred) CA, CPA, CFA, or Actuarial qualification (good to have) Key Competencies Strong leadership and influencing skills Excellent communication and executive-level presentation ability High attention to detail with strategic thinking Ability to work under regulatory deadlines and pressure Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills Candidate Profile Has successfully delivered at least one end-to-end IFRS 17 program Comfortable working with senior leadership, regulators, auditors, and global teams Balances regulatory rigor with practical delivery focus
