Senior Tumor Registrar

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION The Senior Tumor Registrar establishes and maintains the efficient operation of the Tumor Registry through registration and follow-up of patients with a diagnosis of malignancy. The Senior Tumor Registrar is responsible for observing and adhering to the ACOS COC accreditation standards applicable to the Tumor Registry. The Senior Tumor Registrar also retrieves and assists the Medical Staff in analyzing data from the Tumor registry.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) Experience: Minimum two year experience in Tumor Registry and participation in on ACOS COC survey. Education and Training: Formal training in a health profession (ie medical record technician or administration), mastery of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Associates degree in a health related field required.

License, Certification & Registration: CTR - Certified Tumor Registrar required. Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability to collect, manage, display and analyze data. Demonstrated ability to code using ICD 10.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated excellent keyboarding capabilities. Detail oriented.

Ability to work independently, as well as the ability to interact with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
