About the Role

Skillsauce is hiring on behalf of its client, Cosmos Pumps Pvt. Ltd. We are working as a recruitment consultant for Cosmos Pumps, a leading player in the pump manufacturing industry.


Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Sr. Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager to drive sales and business development for Cosmos Pumps Pvt. Ltd. in the Chennai region. The role involves managing key accounts, developing new markets, and achieving sales targets across industrial and project segments through solution-oriented selling of pump products.


Key Responsibilities


• Achieve assigned sales targets for pump products and solutions in the Chennai / Tamil Nadu region.

• Develop new business opportunities across construction, infrastructure, water & wastewater, industrial, EPC, and municipal sectors.

• Manage and grow relationships with key customers, consultants, contractors, and EPC companies.

• Develop, appoint, and manage dealers / distributors and channel partners.

• Promote Cosmos Pumps’ product range including submersible dewatering pumps, auto-prime pumps, drainage, sludge and slurry pumps, and related services.

• Handle techno-commercial discussions, prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close orders.

• Support tendering activities, project coordination, and order execution.

• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, service, logistics, and finance) to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Ensure timely payment collection and control of receivables.

• Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market intelligence.

• Submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and MIS to management.


Desired Candidate Profile


• BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).

• 5–10 years of experience in industrial sales, preferably in pumps, fluid handling equipment, rotating equipment, or related engineering products.

• Strong exposure to project sales and channel management.

• Sound technical knowledge and ability to understand customer applications.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

• Result-oriented, self-driven, and capable of working independently.

• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
